Hi everyone,
The (half the?) channel got deleted and my account got banned from Telegram.
So first things first: I'm really so very sorry that this happened.
I promise to you all that this was not my intention.
My understanding now is that some are still left in group and I truly hope that everyone can be added back in.
Or alternatively, if that doesn't work, that you all can setup a new channel. Let me know if you need help coordinating.
You should be able add most people through the prayer group.
Now the unusual thing: I haven't done anything ban-worthy to get me banned.
I do have an idea what happened though, and I'd like to explain.
Today, or technically yesterday now, I decided that I'd like to have a break from group chat.
This was not an easy decision for me and between that and what just happened, this has been a very difficult and uncomfortable night for me.
To be completely transparent, I'm not sure if I'll be on telegram in the future.
Because of this decision, I decided to assign new administrators tonight to group chat and to transfer ownership.
That way, you could all continue the channel without me.
Unfortunately, this turned out to be more difficult than it sounds.
I looked up online on how to do it and it said that if you have a password on your account that when you assign new administrators, that they need to have that enabled too. I didn't know if you guys have ever enabled passwords, so I figured, let me just delete the password from my account, that way I can just assign you guys.
Then I went into settings and to "delete account if inactive for". Once I was there I entered 1 month.
I figured, within one month I'll know what I'll be doing for sure. If I don't return, my account will just auto-delete.
So I thought, let me transfer ownership now.
However, between changing several of these settings and assigning new administrators, my account must have gotten flagged for unusual/suspicious activity.
As soon as I pressed on adding a new administrator, I got kicked out of telegram completely.
I tried logging back in and got this message that I'm now banned:
As for why some people are still in group and others aren't, I promise to you all, I have no idea.
Please know that I didn't do this, and I haven't removed anyone from group.
That's honestly what happened and this truly wasn't the way I wanted to leave.
I even wrote a note for you all that I'll now never get to sent.
With all of that said, again I'm truly sorry.
As for me, I might still be around on the forums and by email ( rainylyme@protonmail.com )
I also want to thank everyone for all the kindness, support, trust, fun and amazing times that we've shared. I have no doubt that you will all find healing and so please don't ever stop trying. It will pay off in the end. Please keep going at it, my friends. You can do it!
